🔑 Forgot Your Passcode?
Important:The passcode can be reset by tapping on 'Forgot Passcode' under the unlock button on the unlock screen.
Copy the code and send it to
support@safeinsound.app for a one time unique code to unlock the app and reset the passcode.
Alternatively you can just delete and reinstall the app
If you've forgotten your passcode, follow these steps to reset the app:
- Delete the App
- Press and hold the Safe in Sound app icon on your home screen
- Tap "Remove App" → "Delete App"
- Confirm by tapping "Delete"
- Reinstall from App Store
- Open the App Store
- Search for "Safe in Sound"
- Tap the download button (cloud icon) to reinstall
- Set Up Again
- Open the app and go through the welcome screens
- Create a new passcode (write it down this time!)
- Set your desired volume limit
Tips to Avoid Losing Your Passcode
- ✅ Write it down and keep it in a safe place
- ✅ Store it in your password manager (1Password, LastPass, etc.)
- ✅ Enable Face ID for quick access (you can still use passcode as backup)
- ✅ Share it with a trusted family member
🔧 Troubleshooting Common Issues
Volume Limit Not Working
Problem: The volume goes above your set limit
Solution:
- Make sure Protection is Active (you should see a green "Protection Active" indicator)
- Check that the app has permission to run in the background
- Restart the app and reactivate protection
- Make sure your iOS is up to date
Can't Change Volume Limit
Problem: The volume limit slider is locked
Solution:
- Volume limits are locked when protection is active (this is by design!)
- Tap the unlock button and enter your passcode or use Face ID
- Once unlocked, you can adjust the volume limit
- Lock it again when you're done to keep settings secure
Volume Warning Keeps Appearing
Problem: You see repeated warnings about high volume
Solution:
- This means the volume is trying to go above your set limit
- The app is working correctly by blocking the increase
- Lower the volume manually or adjust your volume limit setting
- You can disable haptic feedback in Settings if the vibrations are annoying
Settings Not Saving
Problem: Your settings reset when you close the app
Solution:
- Make sure you're locking protection after making changes
- Check that your device has enough storage space
- Try force-closing and reopening the app
- If problem persists, delete and reinstall the app (you'll lose your passcode)
App Crashes or Freezes
Problem: The app won't open or crashes frequently
Solution:
- Force close the app: Swipe up from bottom, swipe app up
- Restart your iPhone
- Check for app updates in the App Store
- Update iOS if an update is available
- As a last resort, delete and reinstall the app
